This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain English. If anything is unclear, please call or email us.

Who we are

This website is operated by Being True To Vets LLC ("Being True to Vets," "we," "us" or "our"). Our mailing address is 304 Divinity Pl SW, Huntsville, AL 35824.

This policy applies to information collected through this website, including our consultation and contact forms. It takes effect on October 14, 2026.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you request a free consultation, schedule a free consultation call, send us a message through our contact form or request a case review from our VA disability calculator, we ask for:

  • Your full name.
  • Your email address and phone number.
  • Your country and your state of residency.
  • Your branch of service.
  • Your current VA rating, or whether you have never filed or have no rating.
  • An optional message, if you choose to write one.
  • When you schedule a call, the day and time you'd like us to call.

Our VA disability calculator

The VA disability calculator works in your browser. The ratings and dependents you enter are not saved or sent anywhere unless you choose to:

  • Request a case review. We receive the details listed above, plus the ratings and dependents you entered, so we can go over your estimate with you.
  • Email yourself the breakdown. We use your email address only to send that breakdown. We don't add it to marketing lists.

Benefits by state

The Benefits by State page works in your browser. The ZIP code and VA rating you enter there are never sent to us. If you allow analytics cookies, we count which states are viewed, without the rating. If you ask to be emailed when a state's guide is ready, we receive your email address and that state, and we use them only to tell you about that guide. We don't add your address to marketing lists.

Information collected automatically

When you submit a form, we also record how you found us. This is called marketing attribution. It can include UTM parameters (short tags in a web address that show which ad, email or link you clicked) and the page where you first arrived on our site.

Like most websites, our servers and tools may also record basic technical data, such as your browser type, device type, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

Some state laws may treat information about a disability rating or health condition as sensitive personal information.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your request and contact you about a consultation.
  • Understand your situation so we can tell you whether and how we may be able to help.
  • Contact you by phone, email or text message about your request.
  • Keep records of our conversations with you.
  • Learn which pages, ads and links bring people to our site, so we can improve our website and outreach.
  • Keep our website secure and working properly.
  • Meet our legal obligations and protect our rights.

Marketing messages

Our forms do not sign you up for marketing emails or marketing text messages. We will only send you marketing messages if you give us separate permission first. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email, replying STOP to any text message we send, or contacting us.

Text messages (SMS)

When you give us your phone number and submit one of our forms, you agree that Being True To Vets LLC may contact you by SMS text message about your request. For example, we may text you to confirm or reschedule your consultation call, or to follow up on your request.

  • Message frequency varies. It depends on your request and our conversations with you.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile phone plan.
  • To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message. We will send one message to confirm that you have opted out, and then no more text messages unless you sign up again. You can also ask us to stop by phone or email.
  • For help, reply HELP to any message, or contact us at (938) 267-0760 or consulting@beingtruetovets.com.
  • Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or your text message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the text messaging service provider that delivers our messages for us, which may use them only to provide that service.

If you would rather not receive text messages, you can call us at (938) 267-0760 instead of using a form.

Where a law requires us to have a legal reason (a "legal basis") to use your information, we rely on one or more of these:

  • Your request. We use your information to respond to a consultation or contact request you made.
  • Your consent. For example, when you agree to receive text messages about your request. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Our legitimate interests. For example, keeping our site secure and understanding how people find us, in ways that do not override your rights.
  • Legal obligations. When a law requires us to keep or share certain information.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.

We share information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only so they can do that work for us. These include:

  • Our customer relationship management (CRM) provider, which stores form submissions and our contact history with you.
  • An automation service that securely passes your form submissions to our CRM.
  • Our website hosting provider, Vercel.
  • Analytics and advertising providers such as Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (Meta Pixel), only if you allow those cookies in our cookie banner. See "Cookies and analytics" below.
  • Email, phone and text messaging tools we use to contact you.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of any person, or as part of a merger, sale or other transfer of our business. In a business transfer, this policy would continue to apply to the information we collected.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject cookies that are not necessary. Analytics and marketing tools stay off until you choose to allow them.

  • Necessary cookies help the site work and stay secure, and remember your cookie choices. They are always on.
  • Analytics cookies, such as Google Analytics, help us understand in general terms how people use our site. They are used only if you allow them.
  • Marketing cookies, such as the Meta Pixel, help us measure and improve our advertising on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. They are used only if you allow them.
  • Attribution data (UTM parameters and the page you first landed on) is kept in your browser for the current visit only. It is sent to us only if you submit a form, so we know which link or ad brought you to us.

We never send your name, email, phone number, the details of your situation or anything you type into our forms to analytics or advertising providers.

You can change your choices at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of marketing cookies, and they stay off.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. For example, information you send through our forms travels over an encrypted connection, and we limit access to the people and providers who need it.

No website or system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information sent online will always be safe. This is one more reason we ask you not to send medical records or ID numbers through our forms.

How long we keep your information

We keep form submissions and related records for 180 days, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to resolve a dispute. When we no longer need the information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Your choices and rights

You can always:

  • Opt out of marketing messages at any time.
  • Ask us to update or correct your contact information.
  • Choose not to fill out our forms and call us instead.

Rights under state privacy laws

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your information.
  • Opt out of the sale of your information, targeted advertising or certain kinds of profiling. (We do not sell personal information.)
  • Limit how we use sensitive personal information, where that right applies.
  • Appeal our decision if we deny your request.

To make a request, contact us using the details at the end of this policy. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

Children's privacy

Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or a higher age where state law requires). If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make important changes, we will give more notice, such as a message on our website.
