We are independent from the VA
We are a private business operated by Being True To Vets LLC. Nothing on this website should be read to suggest that the VA or any other agency has approved, sponsored or recommended us.
No guarantee of results
We cannot and do not guarantee that any claim will be approved. We do not guarantee any rating, rating increase, back pay or amount of compensation.
The VA alone makes decisions on VA disability claims. The VA decides what evidence it needs, whether a condition is service connected, what rating applies, and what you are paid. Results depend on the facts of each case and on VA's review.
Our accreditation status
Our status: Being True to Vets is not accredited by the VA. We are not a Veterans Service Organization, an attorney or a claims agent, and we do not represent Veterans before the VA. We are an independent consulting business that helps Veterans understand the VA disability process and their options.
Federal rules at 38 C.F.R. Part 14 govern who may help prepare, present and prosecute VA benefit claims, and who may charge a fee for that help. VA's Office of General Counsel accredits three kinds of representatives: Veterans Service Organization (VSO) representatives, attorneys, and claims agents.
Under VA rules, accredited VSO representatives do not charge for their help. Accredited attorneys and claims agents may charge fees only in certain situations and under conditions VA sets. You can read more in VA's accredited representative FAQs (opens in a new tab).
Before you work with anyone on a VA claim, including us, you have the right to ask whether they are VA-accredited and how they are paid. You can look up accredited representatives using VA's search tool on its Get help from an accredited representative (opens in a new tab) page.
Free help is available
You do not have to pay anyone to file a VA claim. You can file on your own with the VA at no cost. You can also get free help from:
- VA-accredited Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs). Their accredited representatives help Veterans with claims at no charge.
- The VA itself. You can apply, check your claim and get answers directly from VA.
To learn more or find a free accredited representative near you, visit VA's accredited representative FAQs (opens in a new tab) or Get help from a VA-accredited representative or VSO (opens in a new tab).
We share this because you have earned benefits, and you deserve to know every option for pursuing them, including the free ones.

We share a testimonial only with the person's written consent.

We do not use the seal, logo or emblem of the VA, the Department of Defense or any other government agency on this website. Any mention of the VA or VA.gov is only to identify the agency or to point you to official information.
